Origami

The lunchtime origami making session attracted a large number of participants and a huge number of pinwheels, boats and swans were folded.

Thank you to Mrs Chummun, our new art teacher, for sharing her paper folding prowess.

Library Committee

The Library Committee meeting was held in mid-May to firstly thank the team for all they do for the school library. We brainstormed about library events, such as the upcoming Chess Competition, what new books we should purchase for the library, and how to get more books into more student hands. How we can best serve the school by promoting reading is always our top priority.

Gagana Samoa

We recently celebrated Gagana Samoa, with a display celebrating Samoan language, writers and culture.

There are numerous books in the school library written in Samoan, and about the country, all available for borrowing so please encourage your sons to check them out.

“We can't rewalk the exact footprints
we make in the stories of our lives
but we'll hear again our footprints
like the lullabies our parents sang us
the moment our stories end
Perhaps out of our footprints
our children will nurse wiser lullabies”

By Samoan poet Albert Wendt, from The Adventures of Vela
