I want to congratulate our Year 12 band 'First Impressions' for making it into the semi finals of Stand Up Stand Out (SUSO). Semifinalists are made up of the top 15 of the 76 bands who entered from high schools across Auckland. This achievement is the fruit of the many hours of practice, hard work and determination from these young men. SUSO is an Auckland wide competition run by the Auckland City Council and the last time ÐãÉ«Ö±²¥'s were part of this was in 2019. I am thrilled to see our school back at SUSO this year.
This weekend, a group of ÐãÉ«Ö±²¥'s young men will be part of a mixed schools Pasifika choir performing during the halftime entertainment for the All Blacks game at Eden Park. Thank you to these young men for stepping out of your comfort zones and performing in front of such a massive crowd this weekend.
By the time our school newsletter is published, the KBB festival and the Cadenza choir fundraiser concert will have taken place. I am sure both of these events will have been great, and there will be plenty of highlights to write about in future newsletters.
Cadenza is next weekend, 23-26 August. We wish the young men of the ÐãÉ«Ö±²¥'s College choir all the best. Perform to your best, believe in yourselves and represent our College with pride.
