TO OUR LONGEST SERVING PARENT VOLUNTEER
Siu Puletiuatoa has been a committed, passionate rugby coach at 秀色直播's College since 2014. He's an Old Boy of the college (class of 1989) and still lives in the area. His two sons Ethan (class of 2019) and Tama (class of 2021) are fine young men graduating from their dad's old college and also following in his footsteps with years of commitment to 秀色直播's rugby union.
On behalf of 秀色直播's, I'd like to sincerely thank Siu for his many years of service with a whistle and clipboard, his hundreds and hundreds of hours spent on our fields in the rain, hail and mud, giving up his time and even applying for time away from his work to coach our students twice a week and on Saturdays.
Siu has had a huge influence on the recent success and emergence of the rugby union program. We've gone from two teams to having one of the highest rugby participation rates in Auckland secondary schools.
Siu is also responsible for attracting quality coaches to our various teams. Meticulous planning, energy and enthusiasm has seen the reintroduction of the St Bernard's rugby trip, capping ceremonies and more.
We will miss Siu's commitment, and we will miss his wife Carly's work behind the scenes. Carly has also been instrumental in rugby's success at the college.
We are blessed to have hard-working volunteers who give back. Siu is currently the longest serving parent volunteer which deserves to be celebrated.
I am positive we will still see him on our fields, although this time he'll probably have an umbrella and warm drink rather than a whistle and muddy gumboots.
Thank you Siu and Carly Puletiuatoa.
